Rescue

Why take the Rescue Diver course?

This course is one of the most demanding, but rewarding courses you can take. Not only do you become a better diver, but also a better dive buddy. You learn to be quick on your feet when a stressful situation comes up, but you will also learn how to be calm under pressure. It is a serious course, however you will have the most fun in this course with lots of laughter and creating new friendships. 

What To Expect

 Logistics:  

  • This course starts in June and runs until Mid to late October (depending on weather) 
  • This will take place at one of the local quarries that we have available to use at the time of the course (Quarry entrance fee is not included in the cost) 

Course Consists of:

  • You will receive the eLearning.
  • You will learn:
    - How to recognize and manage stress in other divers
    - How to rescue a panicked diver
    - How to rescue an unresponsive diver (above and below the water)
    - Self rescue
    - Emergency management and equipment  

Not Included: 

  • Entry Fees 
  • Food 
  • Transportation 
  • Accommodations (Camping or Hotel cost)

Prerequisites

  • Must be 12 years of age or older 
  • Must be Advanced Open Water certified or Junior Advanced Open Water Certified 
  • Be able to answer "NO" to all of the questions on the Medical form, if you answer "YES" to any of the questions please consult with a physician to get approved for diving prior to the start of the course
  • Must have a current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification. If you do not have one we conduct EFR training for this course. Click Here To Learn More.

  • Mask, Snorkel, Fins, and Booties 
  • Buoyancy Control Device

  • Signaling Device (Whistle)
  • Pocket Mask (Highly Recommended)
