Advanced open water

What To Expect

 Logistics: 

  • There is a total of 5 dives which happen over the course of 2 days (usually 3 dives the first day and 2 dives on the second day)
  • This course starts in June and runs until Mid to late October (depending on weather)
  • This will take place at one of the local quarries that we have available to use at the time of the course (Quarry entrance fee is not included in the cost)
  • Maximum depth is 30 meters/100 feet (depending on age)

Course Consists of:

  • You get the option of either a book or the eLearning (price will very depending on which one you would like)
  • Knowledge reviews on the 5 different topics:
    - Two of your knowledge reviews have to be Deep Dive and Underwater Navigation 
  • When you sign up you get the option to pick your other 3 knowledge review skills. If you see a date that works for you, you will have to do all 5 of those knowledge reviews that were chosen for that date.

  • Entry Fees
  • Food
  • Transportation
  • Accommodations (Camping or Hotel cost)

Prerequisites

  • Must be 12 years of age or older
  • Must be Open Water certified or Junior Open Water Certified
  • Be able to answer "NO" to all of the questions on the Medical form, if you answer "YES" to any of the questions please consult with a physician to get approved for diving prior to the start of the course

  • Tanks and Weights
  • Hoods and Gloves
  • Compass
  • Slates
  • Surface Marker Buoy (SMB)
  • Lift Bags
  • Ropes/lines
  • Combination locks
  • Lights
  • Etc.

Not Included: (All of these can be rented and we do offer rental packages)

  • Mask, Snorkel, Fins, and Booties 
  • Buoyancy Control Device
  • Regulators
  • Computers
  • Wetsuit
  • Signaling Device (whistle)

Cost

The course fee is $495 (book or eLearning)


Dates:

  • June 1st - 2nd @ Lake Allure


It is your option which way you would like to learn. If you choice book then it will be mailed to you and you should receive it within a few days and if you choice the eLearning you will receive it within 3 hours of signing up for the course.
